When it comes down to it, we know that LeBron and Kobe will go down in the top 10 greatest players of all time. Both multiple time champions, MVP’s, leaders of amazing teams. However, many people will claim that LeBron James is a better overall player, and many people will win that argument. Yet, LeBron cant get away from Kobe. The argument has and always will be made.
If you wanna break it down, LeBron is a better passer then Kobe. LeBron will get your team a better record. LeBron will run your team as a whole and make every player on your team better.
If we wanna talk about defense, I think that is a harder subject to decide. Kobe locks down top guys. LeBron is so physically gifted that his defense isn’t skill based. They tie in that category to me. Shooting I give the edge to Kobe (even if LeBron shoots at a higher percentage), just because of his footwork, skill and overall form.
LeBron is clearly the more athletic player. Hell, he might me the most physically gifted player to ever play. So after all this, you’d think that he seems to be the better player, right? There is one thing that keeps Kobe Bryant alive in the comparison.
Kobe Bryant at the end of games, is clearly the guy you want with the ball. You’ll never see Kobe pass in a big moment. And it’s not because he doesn’t have the IQ to know when he’s holding the ball to long. It’s purely because he wants it more. A good friend once told me that LeBron is the Greatest 43 minute player of all time.
Give me Kobe for the last five.
